Sugarglider “Let Me In”:
Muzik (5 out of 5)
It's another winner from the dynamic duo. Hooky, percussive drive is the
name of the game. Add some dark stabs and screwed up vocals and hey presto -
arms aloft dancefloor mayhem!
International DJ Tunes (4 Stars)
Cass & Slide's minimal, bouncy, percussive builder has been picking up fans
all over, from Digweed to Pappa, and it's not difficult to see why - hard
edged, menacing beats, chunky bass-line, dark synth stabs and pitched-up
rhythmic vocals combine to kick ass on the floor. Bring it on!
Mixmag (5 out of 5) This is one of Cass
& Slide's best remixes to date!

Dark and brooding bass envelopes you from the off. Twisted vocals meld with
increasingly frantic percussion, while all the time the bass drives this
brake-less bus over the cliff of progressive heaven. Bundles of attitude but
never too serious, a great combination for those late night floors. - Andy

Mixer Magazine (8 out of 10) - Robert

Gene Carbonell, a veteran DJ, along with Brad Harper and Darryl Windham as
Red Shift (Formerly of the now defunct F-111 Records), have teamed up to
create a top notch track. Large electronic toms, a nice round kick and rich,
cavernous bass stabs set the stage for a deep progressive groover with clean
production, complementary effects, and spacey atmospheres. The Cantrelle
remix takes on a much heavier approach with upfront shakers, large tribal
drums and thicker layers, making for a more progressive techno affair, while
the Cascade remix employs a bouncier attitude through its hi-hats, a more
melodic top-end and a fierce change-up into an arpeggio halfway through.
Nice one!

Domestic single-of-the-month honors go to a former UK import called "Bee
Sting Smile" by Sugarglider on the cleverly acronym'd NAJM (No Attitude,
Just Music) label. The Sugarglider debut is one of those rare singles that
manages to cover most every trendy club base without even trying. Instant
accessibility that club spinners and dance radio programmers dream about.
DMA Magazine (Dance Music Authority) **** 1/2
While the Sugarglider Original Vocal Mix is a progressive vocal house cut
that easily stands on its own merits, my pick is the anthematic Sunscreem
Tranced Out Eclipse Mix. The track’s layered ethereal sounds and hypnotic
female vocals evidence Sunscreem’s crisp influence, and the result is a
remix that rivals the quality of Sunscreem’s chart-topping original
productions. Scott Huffman - May 2001 Issue

infectious commercial houser that delivers an engaging rhythm track and
catchy euro styled vocals with elements of progressive house, deep house and
a hint of trance! Long synth-driven breaks and an electro deep bass
highlight this mix, while the haunting vocals give this cut much character.

Dance Trax Hot Plate (January 20th, 2001) In need of a Shirley Manson-style
vocal fix? Well, look no further than the Sugarglider's "Bee Sting Smile." [Sugarglider]
is a cross between [the group] Garbage and Sunscreem. |
