Kaya 1068 Peachtree, Atlanta, Georgia
Kaya has that unfinished, unpolished,
underground Rave feel that has become popular over the years. In some ways it comes off as
borderline dumpy (but that is my opinion only) The hallway leading back to the restrooms
is reminiscent of a service station...Its amazing what paint would conceal! The front
room, complete with a large bar and slow moving paddle fans, (Casablanca anyone?) opens
onto a rather noisy patio facing Peachtree. The front room is perfect for intimate live
performances and cabarets. The large dance hall in the rear is expansive. The DJ sits
prominently center stage. We know who rules the roost here. Raised seating areas flank the
dance floor on either side. If you're a young club rat this place will appeal to you. If
you're more sophisticated, save yourself the stress and stay home. |
