Krome S. Olive (1/2 blk North of Clematis), West Palm Beach, Florida Formerly Club Enigma, Krome is located just north of the revitalized Clematis Street in Downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. The outside of the club is adorned with a strip of strobe lights (I wonder how they got that passed by the local building authorities)! A once charming quirky gay club complete with a rainbow wall of lava lamps, Krome has transformed into a directionless, cappuccino sucking, watered down drinks, dance mess. Krome is divided into four areas; the main techno dance floor is the main event on the first floor, the retro and hip hop rooms (reminiscent of opium dens) and video bar complete the set and are all located upstairs. A bridge crosses over the dance floor and is the best feature of the club. Krome tries to accomplish too much to compete with the high maintenance crowds, and ends up doing nothing well. |
