Once voted “The #1 Dance Club in New Jersey”, the Colosseum still delivers a visual and aural experience you won’t soon forget. A Greek theme dominates the inside, as well as the outside of this club. Frescoes, reliefs, Greek statues, Doric and Ionic columns, a fountain, and special purple and blue recessed lighting, put The Colosseum in a world of it’s own.

A very large dance area encompasses the center of the club, with a slightly elevated bar area surrounding it. Rarely is there a time when the floor is not packed with dancegoers.

Sound is of obvious importance to The Colosseum. No matter where you go in the club, an exceptional sound system commands an aural experience that cannot be escaped. The sound carries a life of it’s own and the clientele becomes completely absorbed in the dancing. With the occasional, and sometimes irritating, use of a high-pitched siren, the DJ can literally pull the crowd out of any lulls; bringing the dancers to an almost animalistic and frenzied climax.

The lighting on the dance floor is a crucial element in the success of The Colosseum. It hones the visual focus on the floor with the sense that it is tangible; light envelops the dancer, creating a material-like barrier between him/her and the on-lookers.

Just a half-hour outside New York City, The Colosseum is conveniently situated off the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. Attracting a crowd representational of New York City, Staten Island and Northern and Central Jersey, The Colosseum is a dance experience unlike any other in New Jersey.
